ISSPCS is a global and open certification scheme for Information and Systems Security Professionals based on essential security principles with the following key features:

ISSPCS certification identifies the holder as a knowledgeable and practical individual in the field of Information Security and provides a practical solution to the issue of continually changing information security processes and best practices.

ISSPCS focuses on security from a process and discipline perspective, ensuring security activities are conducted in line with the enterprise's goals, objectives and operating environment.

ISSPCS is based on 9 strategic principles and uses a series of "modules" to identify specific, real-world applications of security knowledge as detailed in the ISSPCS Subject Matrix.

ISSPCS offers 4 certification levels and uses freely-available certification resources. You can apply for certification as either:

  • Exam candidate - where you gain certification by sitting an exam; or
  • Grandfathering scheme - that lets suitably qualified professionals may apply for ISSPCS Practitioner certification. This approach acknowledge current qualifications and work experience and is ideal for candidates with existing information security qualifications and experience.

The ISSPCS Academic Board controls all curriculum and certification processes and ISSPCS also has a Code of Ethics.
