Activity Points Reference

The following table details the activity points allocated for specific activities:

Activity Points
Attending an Information Security conference, forum or lecture 10 per hour
Attending an Information Security Special Interest Group meeting (eg, ISSA, ISIG) 10 per hour
Serving on a board/council for an Information Security Special Interest Group 60 per month
Writing a published Information Security related print magazine article 125 per article
Writing a published Information Security related web magazine article
(Must be a well known site, with URL provided)
50 per article
Writing/co-writing a published Information Security book 600 per book
Developing a lecture for an Information Security conference/forum 90 per lecture
Developing an information security lecture for a Special Interest Group 65 per lecture
Developing a public/commercial Information Security course
(based on course running time, not gross hours delivered)
20 per course hour.
Eg, an 8 hour course receives 160 points total.
Developing an internal/private Information Security course
(based on course running time, not gross hours delivered)
5 per course hour.
Eg, an 8 hour course receives 40 points total.
Writing an ISSPCS exam question that is accepted by the Assessment Committee 200 per question
Dispensing official assessment duties as an ISSPCS Mentor or Fellow 100 per hour

NOTE: ISSPCS reserves the right to review all Activity Point values and requirements.
