All grandfathering applicants who must meet or exceed the following MINIMUM requirements:
- Existing certifications - applicants must be able to demonstrate that they currently hold one of the following certifications:
- a current CISSP certification from ISC2, OR
- a current CISM certification from ISACA, OR
- a current GIAC Security Expert (GSE) certification, OR
- a current SSE-CMM Appraiser certification.
ISSPCS will also consider any reasonable individual request for Grandfathering where the applicant's Information Security qualifications fall outside of the current criteria.
- Work experience - applicants must be able to demonstrate no less than five (5) years of work experience in the Information Security field.
- Resume - applicants must provide a current resume, showing work history that is relevant to the Information Security and/or Information Security Engineering fields, and summaries of engagements in Information Security activities.
- Personal character reference - applicants must provide one personal (character) reference, written by an associate. All references must contain a postal and email contact address of the author, as well as their contact phone number. Reference writers may be contacted by appointed ISSPCS administration for the purposes of confirming the reference.
- Professional reference - applicants must provide one professional reference written by an associate, describing their work exposure, work quality, and work ethic. This must be authored by a separate individual to the character reference. All references must contain a postal and email contact address of the author, as well as their contact phone number. Reference writers may be contacted by appointed ISSPCS administration for the purposes of confirming the reference.
All applicants must complete an ISSPCS Grandfathering Scheme Application, including agreement to uphold the ISSPCS Code of Ethics.
